RESEARCH FINDINGS
ASSUMPTION 1
Fiona is stuck in her traditional ways of drawing and using 2D renderings to envision her fashion ideas.
FINDING
Invalidated. Users are willing to pay for solutions that help them easily see different ideas, fabrics, clothing types, and styles in a virtual landscape.
ASSUMPTION 2
Fabric sustainability & environmental impact is very important to Fiona and she is willing to pay more for these options.
FINDING
Mostly validated. Most fashion creators we spoke to read about the ingredients, resources, and how the fabric they want to purchase is made. Essentially, they want to feel good about their purchase.
ASSUMPTION 3
Fiona needs to see her ideas in a virtual world, augmented world & back to 2D so she can start laying out the measurements and pieces that make up a specific piece.
FINDING
Validated. Everyone we spoke to mentioned that seeing styles in a virtual work is great but they will need to get the content back on paper so they can start exploring how it's going to be created.
ASSUMPTION 4
Fiona will not care if the styles in the virtual work are not exactly to size and proper measurements.
FINDING
Invalidated. We learned that getting pieces to an exact fit is very difficult to do with manual approaches and if the solution could give exact measurements based on body type inputs it would be immensely valuable.
PROBLEM STATEMENT
Visualizing her jacket designs with various materials in a conventional two-dimensional realm takes 2 to 3 days for her to draw her concepts and depict varying fabric textures. She's open to virtual solutions that could aid her in quickly viewing ideas, iterating, and choosing varies fabrics.
